A local church does that near our house too. It's honestly a pretty cool way to do it. Kids are not freaked out by the really ugly things that are all over our neighborhood, the local church gets to get some advertising in, and my kids get Halloween.
The fact is that the holiday, if it can be termed as such, isn't the same when I was a boy. Protecting my kids is far more important than getting some candy. Since trick or trunk works, I like it.

I am glad to see trick or trunk has caught on in other places. I agree, it is a cool way of doing things and helps protect my little ones from what Halloween has become. Sadly I went into a Halloween store yesterday to look at costumes. I was amazed at how many costumes were inappropriate. Sad isn't it?

We do that at our church, and some of the families go all out. Two of them apparently got their heads together and created a 50's style soda fountain (unfortunately, this year I didn't get a chance to go around and visit, so I didn't see it myself). That same family passed out light up swords as gifts, and at one point, I joked to my wife that we should line up all the kids on the church lawn and have someone recite bits of "Braveheart".

That is actually a very cool way to Trick or Treat. Keeps the kids save plus you know where they are getting their candy from. Also I dig the name "Trick or Trunk". Thanks for sharing.

Boulevard Brewing Company out of Kansas City makes a pretty good one, Bully! Porter. Stouts are a little iffier for me, but I love and adore the Schafly Coffee Stout (out of St. Louis).
